What is the philosophy of care at Village Glen?
Our philosophy is to provide quality care that enhances every resident’s life in an environment that is supportive and homelike. Our personal care and supportive services meet the needs of our residents with memory loss through engagement, compassion and caring. We promote and encourage autonomy, resident choice, engaging activities and socialization. Each day can be filled with many special moments and opportunities for connections.

Can you tell me more about the staff at Village Glen?
Our great caregivers provide the backbone of care to our residents with compassionate care each day. Our entire team at Village Glen demonstrates genuine fondness for our residents through compassion, humor and caring. We have very low turnover which means consistency and continuity in the care provided to your loved one. Our caregivers receive training throughout the year including dementia training often exceeding State guidelines.

What is a memory care neighborhood?
Village Glen is an assisted living neighborhood uniquely designed to meet the needs of those with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Interior walkways, easy to navigate common areas, interior courtyard and bright and cheery sunroom are all designed to provide a homelike supportive environment for our residents. Its’ ideal smaller scale of only 18 private studios means more individualized attention for your loved one from our trained staff.

What happens if my family member runs out of financial resources during their residency at Village Glen?
There are community resources available through the Walworth County Aging Disability Resource Center (ADRC) (262) 741-3400 that can fund long term care based on certain criteria. Also contact the Veteran’s Services office at (262) 742-4222 to learn more about Veterans Benefits that may be available to veterans and their spouses. Discuss these options early on with us if affordability is a concern.

Are the apartments furnished at Village Glen?
Our experience shows residents transition better in their new home when they have familiar furnishings around them. For this reason, families are encouraged to bring many of their favorite furnishings and pictures from home. Each private studio includes a spacious bathroom and easy access walk in or roll-in shower.

How will my loved one stay active at Village Glen?
We have a full time Activity Coordinator at Arbor Village and Village Glen and a robust Activity Calendar with an array of activities to keep your family member engaged. Our Morning Stretch program, music therapy and special “Memories in the Making” watercolor program provide opportunities for engagement and connection. Activities promote socialization, exercise and spirituality.

How do I know if my family member is appropriate to live at Village Glen?
We are happy to discuss what services are provided at Village Glen and whether we can meet the needs of your family member. Prior to admittance, our Registered Nurse will complete an assessment to assure we understand the daily needs of the prospective resident and whether we can meet those needs.
